How are religious minorities affected by the ongoing disputes about influence and truths online? How can hate speech be effectively countered and religious tolerance promoted online? How do digital technologies impact the rights and freedoms of religious minorities?

Drawing on his experiences as the UN Special Rapporteur, Professor Shaheed will shed light on the opportunities and challenges faced by religious minorities in cyberspace.

This event is organised by the University Research Priority Program (URPP) Digital Religion(s) in cooperation with the Centre for Human Rights, as part of the UZH-i Ringvorlesung “Digital Religion(s) – Digital Theology(ies)”.
